Some Thoughts on a New Year
March 1 starts Lent. We will gather for Ash Wednesday service(s). We will be marked with ashes and reminded that we are dust and to dust we shall return. But what are you going to do in the meantime? I mean, you and I have all this life to be lived. We’ve not returned to dust yet. So my guess is that God has a divine purpose for your being alive. My guess is that God is also not wanting us to spend our short time on earth swallowed alive by worry, doubt, fear, anxiety, sorrow, frustration, and all the other slings and arrows of the devil. How do you combat worry? How do you deal with problem people? How do you find peace in every circumstance?
These will be some of the situations addressed when we gather for Lent. Keep an eye out in the bulletins, search on our website, check our FB or Google + page, or call the church office to find out more about our special time of teaching, prayer,
and worship during the Lenten season.
